Balancing Family life and the dive schedule

Been out on a few longer jobs lately, and it really hit me how weird the rhythm of family life can get when you're bouncing between time offshore and home, its like one minute you're deep in the grind, next minute you're trying to jump back into school runs and dinner tables like you never left. Not complaining though, I love the work but there's definitely an adjustment every time I come back. Kids grow, routines shift, and sometimes you feel like a guest in your own house for a day or two.
Please someone should tell me I'm not the only one in this occasional mental whiplash

You are singing the song of our people, man. Mental whiplash is definitely part of the gig. My first week back always feels like learning to walk again in regular life. Just have to give it some time to resync.

A buffer time is always a good idea just as open communication. It's a change for your and a change for your family. Be open about it and find ways to get reaccustomed to eachother
