Advice about The Ocean Corporation and career

I'm 32 and looking to enlist at The Ocean Corporation. I'm not from Texas but I have relatives there so that's one of the main reasons I'm considering it. I also recently called the school and they said most of their students are in their early 20s and that it might be challenging for my age to get a job. I really want to start a career in commercial diving so I hope to get your insights.

Is commercial diving in demand, or would I really have a hard time getting on board, especially considering my age by the time I finish the course?

Will I be required to work as a tender for 1 to 2 years? Or is that something I can skip so I can actually start working in the water as soon as I can?

If anyone here has experience with The Ocean Corporation or who's in a similar situation like me who's just starting at this age, I'm keen to get your insights and if there are other things I should be aware of.

oh, no worries. I've known plenty of guys (and gals!) who started in their 30s, even 40s.
Demand is decent, especially for entry level positions, but you've gotta be ready to travel and chase the work. It's not a 9-5 stable gig, especially at first

Commercial diving isn't as in-demand as schools like The Ocean Corporation make it sound. At 32, you're not too old, but expect to start as a tender like everyone else, there's no skipping that. Schools often downplay how long it takes to actually get steady dive work. It's a tough field but not a guaranteed paycheck

I feel like this field is growing in demand and even though I agree with @Appa about not a guaranteed paycheck, if you put some effort you might be able to get that paycheck. Also, like the other said, don't worry about the age, sure you might feel like you're in kindergarten, but you won't be the first one, so go for it.
